Artisan Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Perform regular maintenance tasks on diesel-powered mining equipment
Conduct pre-start checks.
Isolate and lock out with relevant documents.
Assess and respond to specific risks related to Trackless Mobile Machinery
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a timely manner
Replace faulty parts as needed
Ensure efficient operation of machinery to minimize downtime
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed

Requirements:

Grade 12 Certificate
N2 Certificate with Diesel Mechanics as a subject
Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate
3 years post apprentice experience appointed as an Artisan on TMMs
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and repair issues
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
