Winding Engine Driver

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Operate the winding engine to transport miners, equipment, and materials in and out of the mining shaft in a safe and efficient manner
Monitor and control the speed, direction, and braking of the winding engine
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the winding engine to ensure its proper functioning
Follow all safety regulations and procedures while operating the winding engine
Coordinate with other mining personnel to ensure smooth and efficient transportation operations
Keep accurate records of daily activities and maintenance tasks

Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
Valid Winding Engine Driver certificate
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Winding Engine Driver in the mining industry
Good mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a physically demanding and potentially hazardous environment
Knowledge of mining regulations and safety standards
Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts as required

Benefits:

Salary: R400k – R500k
