Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Supervises all laboratory support and administrative functions (e.g. switchboard, document scanning, receiving, logging, client services, cashiering, insurance, result entry, etc)to ensure the smooth operation of various sites in line with relevant standard operation procedures.
• Monitors and controls expenses to control costs and maximize the profitability of the sites.
• Oversees the extraction of pre and post-analytical laboratory management reports and analyses trends in order to implement or recommend corrective actions to the Regional manager.
• Attends and participates in monthly laboratory administration manager meetings to monitor pre and post-analytical laboratory processes in the organization.
• Participates and contributes as a member of project teams that are responsible for implementing pre- and post-analytical laboratory processes and LEAN systems at new or upgraded laboratories to ensure that correct working procedures are implemented and staff are trained accordingly.
• Supervises the correct application of quality assurance processes and standard operating procedures to ensure corrective actions are taken as required.
• Reviews and implements changes to standard operating procedures to ensure the pre and post-laboratory function ( e.g. laboratory courier services, specimen reception and sorting, test result reporting functions) is constantly able to provide a high-quality, cost-effective, and safe service.
• Prepares and ensures availability of up to date documents for internal and external audits to ensure accreditation is maintained and/or obtained in accordance with organizational objectives and business requirements.
• Liaises with customers in order to solve service-related issues, maintain a positive image of the organization and promote the services of Lancet Laboratories.
• Plans and supervises the activities of staff to ensure the most optimal utilization of available resources.
• Trains and develops staff to ensure they have the skills required by the organization and can achieve their performance objectives.
• Oversees asset management and procurement of goods to ensure the most effective utilization of resources, optimization of stock levels, cost reduction and availability of required stock at all times.

Desired Experience & Qualification :

Bsc Degree Advantageous

Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification

0-1 Yrs Supervisor Experience

3-5 Yrs Relevant Working Experience
