Duties & Responsibilities

My client is a leading provider within the FMCG sector and they are seeking a skilled Credit Controller to play a crucial role in managing their accounts and ensuring timely payments from clients.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Managing Own Set of Accounts: Take ownership of a portfolio of accounts, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of each account’s financial status.
Collections Calls: Initiate and conduct collection calls to clients with overdue payments, diplomatically addressing payment issues and negotiating payment plans when necessary.
Compiling Detailed Monthly Reconciliations: Prepare comprehensive monthly reconciliation reports for each account, ensuring accuracy and clarity in financial transactions.
Query Investigations and Resolutions: Investigate and resolve payment queries, both in written and telephonic form, promptly addressing any discrepancies or issues to facilitate timely payments.
Credit Notes and Re-Invoicing Preparation: Prepare credit notes and re-invoices as part of the query resolution process, ensuring that adjustments are accurately reflected in the accounts.
Discount Calculations: Calculate and apply discounts to invoices as per company policies and agreements with clients.
Preparation of Reports and Stats: Generate regular reports and statistics related to credit control, providing insight into account status and payment trends to aid decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Matric and Finance related qualification.
Worked with high volumes of Claims and dealt with a large book value.
3 years proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
