SASA- Finance and Administration Manager

The South African Sugar Association (SASA) has a permanent vacancy for a Finance and Administration Manager, based at Mount Edgecombe, KwaZulu-Natal.

The South African Sugar Association (SASA) is the regulator of the sugar industry in South Africa and provides a range of specialist services that enhance the profitability, global competitiveness, and sustainability of the South African sugar industry.
The Finance and Administration division forms an integral support division that ensures the responsible custodianship of budgets and resources made available to SASA by the industry. It provides expert and comprehensive support services required by the SASA divisions such as centralized financial processing, payroll, and procurement. financial reporting, taxation, banking, and treasury services.
We have an excellent permanent opportunity for an experienced and energetic Finance and Administration Manager to provide trustworthy and professional guidance, support, and advice to the various line managers within the Industry Affairs Division incl Cane Testing Services.

As the overall divisional finance expert, reporting to the Finance Director, you will interact with relevant internal and external managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations. You will manage all processes for presenting and reporting accurate and timely financial information of the divisions; provide continuous management of financial systems and budgets; maintain accounting records and prepare accounts and management information; review of respective divisional payroll; advise on of areas of business improvement, detect and prevent abuse/misuse of company resources; produce reports and recommendations following internal/external audits and undertake supplier liaison and negotiation to ensure the smooth running of all key operational and administrative functions.

You will receive strong support from the centralized financial, management accounting, and procurement services and the added benefit of coaching and mentoring by the organization’s Finance Director.

Your team will include a Management Accounting Officer and a TVET learner.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

BCom (Financial/Management Accounting) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant financial management experience at a senior level in a complex corporate accounting environment
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualities:

A clear credit and criminal record
Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word together with experience in Syspro or a similar accounting package
Thorough understanding of financial, cost management accounting practices and procedures, including budgeting and forecasting
Preferably 4 -5 years of experience in financial and administrative management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, supported by an ability to interact with internal and external customers at different levels
Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills, as well as attention to detail and planning and organizing, are key to the successful performance of this position
Ability to work under pressure with stringent deadlines
