Technical Advisor – Limpopo

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities :

Westfalia Marketing Africa situated in Tzaneen in Limpopo, has a permanent vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Technical Advisor.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for technical/horticultural support to growers supplying subtropical fruits such as avocados, mangoes, and litchis through Westfalia Marketing.

Qualifications / Experience:

BSc / MSc Agriculture, preferably in Horticulture or Soil Science.
Previous experience in / exposure to containerized shipping of fruit would be advantageous.

Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of pre-and post-harvest agricultural principles and practices for fresh produce.
Solid understanding of the principles of nutrition of tree crops.
A basic knowledge of the principles of food safety management.
Fully proficient in Microsoft Excel (strong in data management, and pivot tables). GIS experience would be useful.
