The role reports directly to the General Manager and manages a team of 7 sub ordinates.

• Position: SHEQ Manager
• Location: Mpumalanga
• Qualifications: National Diploma in Safety Management
• BTech degree advantageous
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience as Safety Manager
• Comsoc 1&2, SAMTRAC and other safety related courses
• Skills: Safety Management within Mining or related field
• Computer literacy
• Risk assessment techniques application
• Accident/incident investigation experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and implement safety strategy to realise safety objectives
Ensure safety inspections, audits are conducted and reports are tabulated and actioned
Managing the development and maintenance of a robust SHEQ management system (Optimal Solve)
Ensure safety strategy is disseminated within operations
Provide guidance with the investigation of causes, proposing counter measures increasing safety awareness
