Employers may verify your identity, qualifications, employment history and professional registrations. Criminal and credit checks require your written consent and must be relevant to the role.

Prepare a document pack now: ID or work permit, matric certificate, highest qualification, SARS tax number, proof of banking, driver's licence and any professional registration numbers.

Qualification fraud is the most common reason offers are withdrawn. Never list a qualification you did not complete — say “in progress” with the expected completion date.

Under POPIA you may ask what data is collected, why, and who processes it. Reputable employers will tell you in writing.

Grab Employment never asks candidates for banking details or payment to apply. Report any request like that to contact@grabemployment.com.
