Roughly four in ten vacancies advertised on Grab Employment sit in Gauteng, concentrated in Sandton, Midrand, Centurion and the Johannesburg CBD. If you can work in Gauteng, your odds improve immediately.

Western Cape is the fastest-growing region for IT, fintech and business process outsourcing, with Cape Town employers increasingly hiring remotely from other provinces for engineering and support roles.

KwaZulu-Natal demand is driven by logistics, warehousing and manufacturing around Durban and Richards Bay, while Mpumalanga and Limpopo continue to hire artisans, mining technicians and safety officers.

Across all provinces the most repeatedly advertised roles are sales consultants, general workers, drivers with valid PrDP, financial accountants, registered nurses and software developers.

Practical takeaway: apply to at least ten well-matched roles a week, keep one CV per discipline, and set alerts for your top three job titles so you apply in the first 48 hours a role goes live.
